Once your registration is complete, please stop by our office. Our office hours are 8:00-3:00 M-F.  You will need to bring:

  • An original birth certificate
  • Current Shot Record
  • Proof of Residence (The following are the ONLY forms of proof that will be accepted)
    • PNM Bill
    • NM Gas Bill
    • Current Lease or Purchase Agreement

These are required before your registration will be approved and your child will be placed on a class list for the fall.

By filling out this form, you are adding your child's name to the 2018-2019 WAITLIST at Ventana Ranch.  This form DOES NOT enroll your child in Pre-K at Ventana Ranch Elementary.  If there are spaces available in our program, we will contact you to come into our school and fill out registration paperwork.  Available spaces in our school are filled first by students residing within Ventana Ranch Elementary School boundaries and then will be pulled from the waitlist in the order they were received.  We will not begin calling to fill slots until after August 1.  In order for your child to participate in Pre-K at Ventana Ranch, they must turn 4 by September 1, 2018.

Welcome to the Ventana Ranch Running Club!  

 

We are very excited to have your child join our group! Just a few reminders and introductions before we begin:

 

*Class will meet each Wednesday, beginning February 21st
*Students will meet in the cafeteria for snack immediately after the dismissal bell and will be escorted to the field.
*Students will be dismissed at 3:15, parents will meet their child on the field or in the front foyer. 
**You must complete your child's registration.  Students will not be permitted to participate in the activity until this form is completed.

 

The focus of this club will be:
-To promote running and fitness at Ventana Ranch Elementary School
-To increase student physical fitness  
-To build self-confidence, self-esteem and positive social behavior 
-But most of all to have FUN!

Dear Parents of Students who will be in Kindergarten through 3rd Grade in SY 2018-2019

 

Would your child benefit from a “jump start” to his/her school year?  We are happy to announce that students at Ventana Ranch are able to receive a five week “jump start” in the areas of reading, written language and math.  This program is open to all students PreK-2nd grade, and is NOT a remedial program.  Students who participate in the K3 Summer Academy will begin their school year with a hands-on curriculum, STEM activities, and on-site reading and math interventionist to support struggling learners as well as our higher/advanced students.  The goal of K3 Summer Academy is to provide strategies and intervention time so that students remain engaged and involved during the summer.

 

The program will run: June 20-July 25, 2018.  We will be off for the 4th of July holiday on Wednesday, July 4 ONLY! Attendance is important, so please plan vacations accordingly.

In order to reserve a spot for your child in this wonderful learning opportunity, we are requesting that you complete this online form or fill out the paper copy will be coming home with your child.  These can be returned to your child's teacher at any time.   Your child’s teacher can provide you with your child’s current academic progress in reading, written language and math as well as some of the benefits of the “jump start” program during parent/teacher conferences.

We have an exciting event coming up Monday, August 21st, “The Great American Eclipse”!  For this event, our area can expect to see the moon cover 73.7% of the sun. The moon will be in the sun's path starting at 10:21 am and continue for 2 hours 52 minutes. The best time to see the peak of the eclipse will be 11:45 am.  For this event, Ventana Ranch ES will use the following plan: 

 

  • Ventana Ranch will follow a regular schedule.  However, all outdoor lessons/recesses will be conducted indoors beginning at 10:10 a.m.until 1:15 p.m.
  • Students in grades 4-5 will be permitted to participate in outdoor eclipse lessons and will use proper safety procedures.
  • Any students (grades 4-5) who wish to participate in outdoor viewing activities must have permission slips, there will be alternate viewing options for students without permission slips.
  • Alternate viewing activities will be provided to teachers (grades PK-5) to use at their discretion.

Albuquerque Public Schools has made it easier for families to apply for free and reduced-price meals with an online process in English or Spanish that walks them through the process.

Only one application is needed per family, even when children attend different APS schools. Families need to fill out the application every year, even if they qualified in previous years.  While the application can be filled out anytime, families are encouraged to complete it before school starts. It's also available through the APS breakfast and lunch menu mobile app, YumYummi, which you can download from Google Play or iTunes App Store.

We've made some changes to bus stop locations, numbers and arrival/drop off times. Our goal is to get students to school a little earlier so they have time to eat breakfast.

APS provides bus transportation to:

  • Elementary School students who live more than 1 mile from their school of residence
  • APS DOES NOT provide school bus transportation to transfer students.
  • Please Note: If your student is in kindergarten, the parent must be present at the bus stop in the afternoon; otherwise, the bus driver will take the student back to their school.

Class list will be available at Meet the Teacher day.  This will be held on Friday, August 11th from 12-2 p.m.  If you did not complete your registration information, your child's name will NOT be posted on a list.

 

Meet the Teacher will be held on Friday, August 11th from 12-2 p.m.  This is only for students entering grades 1-5; come meet your child's teacher and pick up your Staples School Supply orders.  PTA, on-site child care providers, Boy scouts, Girl scouts, and others will be available for registration.  Don't forget to buy a Snow Cone for $1 to support our STEAM lab!!

 

PreK* and Kindergarten students will have class visits and/or home visits August 10-15.  Your teacher will contact you with more information and to schedule a date and time.  *If you are currently on our waitlist, you will not receive a call until there is a space available for your student.
