Standards Based Progress Report

The Standards Based Progress Report (SBPR) is a communication tool for parents and students regarding the student's progress towards proficiency of the standards. The goal in the standards based system is for every student to master all standards by the end of the school year.

The SBPR lists the most important skills students should learn in each subject at a particular grade level. It uses a standardized four-point scale of performance levels to report student progress and achievement. Instead of letter grades, students receive a rating of 1 through 4. The ratings show whether the student is advanced, proficient, nearing proficient or beginning steps for each standard. Students receive separate ratings for effort and work habits. The SBPR is issued three times a year and coordinates with the conclusion of each trimester.

A MidTerm Progress Report (MPR) is issued between reporting periods in the middle of each trimester. The MPR is a "point-in-time" snapshot of where students are in proficiency towards the standards.
